Blood Oath Pact No. 9 is the ninth annual release in the acclaimed Blood Oath series from Lux Row Distillers, created by master distiller and blender John Rempe for bourbon lovers who enjoy mature whiskey with a luxurious cask-finished twist. Released in 2023, this limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a carefully composed blend of three ryed bourbons: a 16-year ryed bourbon, a 12-year ryed bourbon, and a 7-year ryed bourbon finished in Oloroso Sherry casks from the Sherry Triangle region of southwest Spain.
The Oloroso Sherry finish adds deep fruit richness and elegant sweetness while allowing the mature bourbon character to remain front and center. On the nose, Blood Oath Pact No. 9 opens with sweet sherry, ripe fruit, oak, and subtle spice. The palate is rich and layered, showing notes of figs, plums, raisins, molasses, chocolate, and tobacco, balanced by classic bourbon caramel and warm oak spice. The finish is long and warming, leaving behind lingering dark fruit and spicy oak notes that give this release a bold but refined character.
Bottled at 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV) in a 750ml bottle, Blood Oath Pact No. 9 was released in limited quantities with approximately 51,000 bottles produced, with a portion reserved for the later Blood Oath Trilogy release featuring Pacts 7, 8, and 9. Like every Blood Oath pact, it was created as a one-time blend that will never be recreated, making it a standout choice for collectors and enthusiasts looking for a premium bourbon with mature age, sherry-cask depth, and the signature smooth complexity of the Blood Oath lineup.
