Blood Oath Pact No. 5 is the fifth installment in the acclaimed Blood Oath series from Lux Row Distillers, created by master blender John Rempe for bourbon drinkers who enjoy bold flavor with a unique finishing twist. This limited-release Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey combines three carefully selected bourbons: a 13-year ryed bourbon, an 11-year wheated bourbon, and an 8-year ryed bourbon finished for six months in used dark Caribbean rum barrels. The result is a complex and well-balanced bourbon that brings together mature oak, sweet rum influence, and signature Blood Oath depth.
On the nose, Blood Oath Pact No. 5 opens with aromas of vanilla, brown sugar, dark fruit, and a touch of orange zest, followed by subtle dark rum sweetness. The palate is rich and layered, showing notes of caramelized sugar, vanilla, oak, dark fruit, and warm spice, with the Caribbean rum finish adding soft molasses-like sweetness and extra roundness without overpowering the bourbon character. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving behind hints of brown sugar, honey, raisins, and gentle spice.
Bottled at 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV) in a 750ml bottle, Blood Oath Pact No. 5 was released in 2019 in limited quantities and, like every Blood Oath pact, was created as a one-time blend that will never be reproduced. It’s a standout choice for collectors and bourbon enthusiasts looking for a premium whiskey with mature age, smooth texture, and a distinctive rum-cask finish.
