Blood Oath Pact No. 8 is the eighth annual release in the acclaimed Blood Oath series from Lux Row Distillers, created by master distiller John Rempe for bourbon lovers who enjoy mature whiskey with a distinctive finishing twist. This limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a carefully composed blend of three ryed bourbons: a 14-year ryed bourbon, an 11-year ryed bourbon, and an 8-year ryed bourbon finished in Calvados casks from Normandy, France. The Calvados finish adds a refined apple-brandy influence that complements the older bourbon components without overpowering them.
On the nose, Blood Oath Pact No. 8 opens with aromas of caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, and crisp apple, followed by hints of pear, cinnamon, and soft baking spice. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, showing layers of butterscotch, honey, baked apple, ripe pear, vanilla, oak, and warm rye spice. The Calvados cask finish brings a gentle fruit-forward sweetness and subtle brandy richness, adding depth and elegance to the whiskey’s mature oak backbone. The finish is long, warm, and balanced, leaving lingering notes of caramel, apple, toasted oak, and spice.
Bottled at 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV) in a 750ml bottle, Blood Oath Pact No. 8 was released in 2022 as a one-time limited blend that will never be recreated. It’s an excellent choice for bourbon collectors and enthusiasts looking for a premium cask-finished release with the signature smoothness and complexity that defines the Blood Oath lineup.
