Willett Family Estate Bottled Single Barrel Bourbon Barrel #7128 is part of Willett’s highly collectible purple-top single barrel program, where each bottle is drawn from a single hand-selected barrel and bottled at natural strength with no dilution or filtration. This specific barrel was aged for approximately 8 years in new charred American white oak, developing a balance between youthful intensity and emerging oak maturity.
The barrel yielded a very limited run (commonly reported around ~170 bottles), making it a genuinely scarce release in the Willett lineup.
At 126.4 proof, this bourbon sits firmly in Willett’s high-strength single barrel range, delivering concentrated flavor and heat that reflects both long aging and significant barrel evaporation.
On the nose, it opens with spicy oak, brown sugar, caramel, vanilla extract, and light mint, with darker undertones of cherry and cocoa. The palate is full-bodied and intense, showing toffee, molasses, leather, tobacco, cinnamon spice, and charred oak, with a slightly herbal edge typical of Willett’s house character. The finish is long, warming, and slightly drying, with lingering oak spice, pepper, and sweet caramel.
Compared to older Willett barrels (10–15 years), this 8-year expression is more vibrant and spice-forward, but still shows strong barrel depth and structure. It is often appreciated for its energy, intensity, and distinct single-barrel personality.
