Willett Family Estate Bottled Single Barrel Bourbon “Sitting At The Kids Table” is part of Willett Distillery’s highly collectible purple-top single barrel program, where each barrel is individually selected, bottled at natural strength, and released in extremely limited quantities. This particular release comes from a 7-year maturation in new charred American white oak barrels, a stage where bourbon still retains vibrant grain energy but has developed noticeable barrel depth.
At 130.8 proof, this barrel sits in the higher end of Willett’s single barrel range, reflecting strong concentration from aging and evaporation in the rickhouse. Like all Willett single barrels, it is non-blended, non-chill filtered, and bottled exactly as the barrel dictated, meaning all intensity and character are preserved.
On the nose, “Sitting At The Kids Table” typically opens with rich caramel, brown sugar, vanilla bean, and toasted oak, followed by fruit notes like dark cherry and plum, along with subtle floral or herbal undertones. The palate is full-bodied and intense, showing toffee, molasses, cocoa, cinnamon spice, leather, and charred oak, with a noticeable but controlled heat from the high proof. The finish is long and warming, leaving behind oak spice, dark sugar, pepper, and lingering sweet caramel.
At 7 years old, this bourbon represents a balance between youthful power and emerging maturity. It tends to be more vibrant and spice-driven than older Willett releases, while still offering enough barrel influence to create depth and structure.
