The liquid trapped inside this crystal sculpture is a historical treasure. The whisky mastery team is given unrestricted access to Macallan’s rarest aging stocks, selecting a tiny handful of first-fill European oak sherry casks—some dating back nearly half a century. Because these ancient casks have breathed Spanish oak and Oloroso sherry for decades, they give “M” an incredibly heavy, rich body and an intensely dark rosewood color that is entirely natural. Bottled at a bold 45% ABV (90 proof), it offers an uncompromised, profoundly deep look at old-world Speyside luxury that simply cannot be replicated.

Appearance: Deep, natural polished rosewood with a vibrant ruby glow and an incredibly heavy, syrupy viscosity.

Aroma: Intensely complex, mature, and enveloping. Immediate waves of rich, dark dried fruits, dates, and black currants are beautifully framed by antique leather, cedarwood, vanilla bean, and a prominent note of fresh orange oil.

Palate: Luxuriously oily, thick, and mouth-coating. The flavor explodes on the tongue with sweet wood spice, fresh ginger, and clove, which quickly deepens into a heavy mid-palate of dark bittersweet chocolate, espresso bean, burnt brown sugar, and sweet pipe tobacco.

Finish: Monumental, lingering, and beautifully warming. The heavy fruit and dark cocoa notes slowly drift away over several minutes, leaving a sophisticated, dry finish marked by seasoned European oak tannins, fine leather, and a whisper of wood smoke.
