Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond 15 Year Old is one of the older age-stated releases in Heaven Hill’s acclaimed Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Decanter Series. The most commonly referenced release is the Fall 2019 edition, distilled in Fall 2004 and bottled in Fall 2019, carrying a full 15-year age statement. As a Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, it follows the classic U.S. standard: distilled in one season by one distiller at one distillery, aged in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at exactly 100 proof / 50% ABV. It’s made using Heaven Hill’s wheated bourbon mashbill, which gives it a softer, rounder sweetness compared with rye-based bourbons, while the long aging adds deeper oak, spice, and dark dessert-like notes.
In style, this bourbon is best positioned as a rich, mature, oak-driven wheated bourbon rather than a bright or youthful one.
