Wild Turkey Longbranch is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon created by Wild Turkey Master Distiller Eddie Russell together with Matthew McConaughey. First introduced in 2018, Longbranch was designed as a bourbon that bridges Kentucky and Texas, taking Wild Turkey’s classic bourbon character and refining it through a special filtration process using Texas mesquite charcoal and American oak charcoal. This extra step gives the whiskey a smoother, softer texture while adding a subtle earthy-smoky note that sets it apart from standard Wild Turkey releases.
Bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV), Longbranch is approachable and easy-drinking while still carrying the familiar Wild Turkey bourbon backbone. On the nose, it opens with aromas of vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, and honey, followed by hints of orange citrus, soft spice, and light smoke. The palate is smooth and balanced, showing flavors of sweet caramel, vanilla, gentle oak, baking spice, toffee, and a touch of mesquite smokiness, with a mellow warmth rather than a sharp bite. The finish is clean, soft, and lingering, with notes of oak, light char, citrus, and sweet bourbon spice.
