Willett Family Estate Bottled Single Barrel Rye 6 Year is part of Willett Distillery’s highly collectible single barrel program, where every bottle comes from a single selected barrel and is bottled at its natural strength without blending or chill filtration. Because of this, proof, flavor intensity, and even texture can vary significantly from barrel to barrel.
Most 6-year Willett rye barrels are made from a high-rye mash bill (commonly ~74% rye, 11% corn, 15% malted barley) and aged for around 6 years in new charred American white oak barrels.
At this relatively young age, the whiskey typically shows a bright, energetic rye character with less heavy oak influence than older Willett expressions. The result is a profile that feels vibrant, spicy, and aromatic rather than deeply oaked or overly sweet.
