Willett Family Estate Bottled Single Barrel Bourbon Barrel #1582 is one of the highly collectible ultra-aged releases from Willett’s single barrel “purple top” program, where each bottle is drawn from a single barrel and bottled at natural strength without blending or chill filtration.
This particular barrel was aged for approximately 19 years in new charred American white oak, placing it among the oldest widely released Willett single barrel bourbons. Extended aging at this level produces significant concentration through evaporation, intensifying oak influence while also deepening sweetness and dark fruit complexity.
At 111.8 proof, this barrel sits in a relatively moderate cask-strength range compared to many Willett single barrels, which often exceed 120–140 proof. This lower proof for its age often contributes to a more rounded, integrated profile, where oak and sweetness are more balanced rather than aggressive.
